The North Carolina African Services Coalition (NCASC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS, dedicated to supporting refugees, asylees, and victims of human trafficking who resettle in Greensboro, NC.

Guilford County is home to the largest and most diverse refugee population in the state, representing a wide range of countries and ethnic backgrounds, including Somalia, Myanmar, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Cuba, Bhutan, Nepal, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Colombia, Ukraine, El Salvador, Afghanistan, and many others.

Founded in 1997 to serve Greensboro’s African community, NCASC has since expanded its mission to become a full-service refugee resettlement agency. This growth has been supported by grants from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, and the Office of Refugee Resettlement, in partnership with the Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC) and the NC State Refugee Office.

Today, NCASC plays a key role in resettling newly arrived refugee families from around the world into the Greensboro area. Our services help these families adjust to their new surroundings and connect with a wide network of resources, enabling them to achieve self-sufficiency and succeed in key areas such as employment, education, healthcare, and financial stability.
