NCASC Immigration Legal Services strengthens, fosters, safeguards, and reunites individuals and families through representation, referrals and community education. This program began in August of 2022 with the intent to coordinate referrals to agencies and attorneys who could provide either pro bono or low bono immigration legal services to our clients. In March of 2023, we became a recognized agency with two Department of Justice Representatives on our staff. This allows us to provide even more comprehensive and affordable immigration services to our clients moving forward. Our objective is to provide affordable access to immigration legal assistance in order to assist our clients as they prepare to adjust their immigration status among other things. We also provide educational outreach whereby we inform clients and the larger community about immigration-related issues as well as provide clients with citizenship classes.

SERVICES INCLUDE:

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS

CITIZENSHIP

FAMILY–BASED PETITIONS

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

WORK AUTHORIZATION

The agency fee for applications does not include the USCIS filing fee or document translation. Fees are charged for services and not for individual forms. A fee waiver is available for clients who can demonstrate financial hardship and inability to pay. A client may request a fee waiver if he/she receives a means-tested local, state, or federal government benefit (such as food stamps, TANF, Medicaid, or Supplemental Social Income) or in cases of extreme economic hardship. A client who receives a fee waiver from North Carolina African Services Coalition, Inc. is still responsible for applicable fees from USCIS/NVC. However, if appropriate and available, we will also help the client complete a USCIS fee waiver request.

*Please note there is a $60 fee for a consultation
